Workday Rising Barcelona and a brief review of 2023

Just two months after Workday Rising in San Francisco, thousands from Workday’s EMEA community gathered in Barcelona November 14 – 16 for the second Rising conference of the year.

As with the U.S. event, this was another excellent opportunity for Workday’s customers and partners to learn and network in a fun, celebratory environment. And once again, OneSource Virtual (OSV) was proud to participate. From our booth on the conference floor to our customer appreciation party at Opium Barcelona and our speaking session with guests from HastingsDirect and the Lore Group, we had a great time connecting with other Workday customers and partners.

Next year’s conferences are already less than a year away, and we promise to have some great things planned for next year.

Workday – Laying the groundwork for an optimized 2024

One of the biggest takeaways from this year’s Workday Rising conferences is that Workday’s future looks brighter than ever. Check out our blog for a recap of Workday Rising in San Francisco.

During 2023, Workday reported momentum in several critical industries, including retail, healthcare, higher education, and insurance. The company is also moving quickly to optimize the user experience with AI. In addition to announcing new AI-driven features at both Rising conferences, the company published two survey reports earlier this year highlighting the challenges and opportunities of leveraging AI in the workplace.

All of this is happening as Workday prepares for a change in leadership early next year. That’s when co-founder and co-CEO Aneel Bhusri will transition to Executive Chair of Workday’s board, with co-CEO Carl Eschenbach becoming the company’s sole chief executive officer.

OneSource Virtual – Focused on partnership and collaboration

2023 was also a big year for OSV as this was our first year focused exclusively on BPaaS after selling our Professional Services and AMS divisions to Cognizant. As a result, the company has been more focused than ever on building partnerships with our customers and others in the Workday ecosystem.

This move also allowed us to focus more on addressing not just our customers' payroll processing needs but also their employees' financial well-being needs. Following up on the success of our previous employee-focused solutions, we released myFlexWallet, a new digital wallet combining the features of myFlexPay and myFlexSpend, along with brand new features, to give users a unified pay and benefits experience.

Looking forward to a collaborative 2024

As we head into the holiday season, we’re filled with gratitude for our team and what everyone has accomplished this year on behalf of our customers. We’re equally grateful for all our new and existing partnerships. One of our core values as a company is, “We are a team.” Looking ahead to 2024, we’ll be as focused as ever on delivering a superior experience to everyone we collaborate with.

As any finance leader knows, accounts payable (AP) is a critical part of doing business. Behind the scenes, virtually every organization relies on its own network of vendors and suppliers to run, and those organizations have to be paid. It’s like the circle of life, but for businesses. Inevitably, the volume of invoices varies from one organization to another, but what doesn’t vary is the need for accuracy, efficiency, and insights within this process. But even as leaders recognize AP’s importance, many companies struggle to achieve what they need.

Workday Rising, the annual conference that brings Workday customers and partners together, isn’t your typical industry event. It’s more like a celebration, and it seems to get bigger every year, with last year’s attendance setting a record at approximately 15,000 people. We’re sure it will be no different this year as Workday Rising hits Las Vegas September 16-19.
